Until now, trade comparisons were limited to two filters at a time.
That was fine for simple questions - long versus short, breakout versus gap-and-go - but real trading isn’t binary. Most traders run multiple strategies, variations, and rule sets in parallel, and comparing them pair by pair never really showed the full picture.
That’s why we’re introducing Multi-Filter Trade Comparisons.
You can now compare up to a dozen filters at once against another group, all inside a single, automatically generated report. Instead of asking whether Strategy A beats Strategy B, you can finally answer a much more realistic question: How do Strategies 1 through 12 actually perform relative to each other?
From Binary Comparisons to Real Strategy Analysis
The original comparison feature was intentionally simple. Two filters, head-to-head. It was great for quick A/B checks, but as your journal grew, the limitations became obvious.
What if you trade multiple breakout variations?
What if you want to compare several setups against a baseline strategy?
What if you want to understand which parts of your system actually pull their weight?
Multi-filter comparisons turn analysis from a binary decision into a structured, multi-dimensional view of your trading performance. You can group related strategies, compare them side by side, and immediately spot differences in profitability, consistency, and risk behavior.
This isn’t just more data - it’s better questions, answered faster.
How It Works
Creating a multi-filter comparison is straightforward.
- Go to into
comparisonsand click the+button to create a new comparison. From there, you can select as many filters as you want (limits depend on your membership). These can be strategies, trade types, directions, time-based rules, or any custom filters you already use in your journal. - Each filter can be assigned a custom color, which is applied consistently across charts, legends, and statistics. This makes it easy to visually track performance without constantly checking labels.
- Once your filters are selected, give the comparison a name and an optional description. Save it, and the report is generated automatically.
From there, you can dive in and customize the report: choose which statistics matter to you, adjust the charts you want to see, and focus the analysis on exactly what you’re trying to understand.
Why This Changes How You Analyze Trades
Multi-filter comparisons unlock insights that were previously buried or impossible to see.
You can quickly identify which strategies consistently outperform, which ones add noise, and which only work under specific conditions. You can compare drawdowns across multiple setups, evaluate redundancy between strategies, and make decisions based on structure instead of intuition.
What used to require a bit of manual work now happens in a single report, with clarity that scales as your journal grows.
If you run more than two strategies - and most serious traders do - this feature isn’t just a convenience. It’s foundational.
